Dr. Pushpa Kumar Lakshmanan, Associate Professor, School of Ecology and Environment Studies, Nalanda University was welcome to be the lead speaker in the Sensitisation Progamme on the Biological Diversity Act (2002) and Access and Benefit Sharing Provisions for Ayurvedic Drug Producers and Media Representatives held on April 19-20, 2017 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
This two-day program was sorted out by the Odisha State Biodiversity Board and had agents from Ayurvedic medicate producing organizations, customary restorative professionals, examine researchers and media reporters who cover environment.
The motivation behind this program was to spread the message of biodiversity preservation and the component of access and advantage sharing under the Biological Diversity Act to the Ayurvedic Drug Producers and the conventional therapeutic experts who are the real clients of organic assets. The media sensitisation program was the first of its sort organised by the Odisha State Biodiversity Board with a mean to give direct data and contextual analyses on the Biological Diversity Act and Access and Benefit Sharing Provisions. This was finished with the point of advising and sharpening the media to cover and disseminate related news in the correct viewpoint.
